Industry award for local business

July 2010

CEDIA NEWS: Industry award for local business Local company Liquid Automation, who specialise in design and installation of residential and commercial electronic systems, has won an international award for the Asia Pacific region. The awards showcased some incredible installations which boasted integration on an unprecedented scale. They included stunning examples of home automation, home theatres many only dream of, amazing marine vessels fitted out with every perceivable piece of electronics, practical commercial applications and excellent audio visual product implementation. Based in Rosedale North Shore, Liquid Automation for the second year running won the ‘Best Marine Project’ and received a highly commended for ‘Best Project Design and Documentation’, both categories of the prestigious CEDIA Electronic Lifestyles® Awards, announced and celebrated by over 300 industry guests at a gala dinner function at the Plaza Ballroom, Melbourne, on Wednesday 23 June. Liquid Automation’s Sam Ashton accepted the award and said: “It was an eight-month project with an impressive installation that included all the bells and whistles aboard this luxury vessel. We’re excited to have won, and also we received a highly-commended award for the project design and documentation for the same project.” “The submissions in this year’s prestigious awards were the best I’ve ever seen, both locally and internationally” said Executive Director of CEDIA Asia Pacific, Stephen Miller. “These awards are not given out lightly. This year we had a record number of entries (92) across the Asia Pacific region and each category was fiercely contested. The three judges on this year’s panel come from overseas and commented on the high standard of entries they were asked to adjudicate on.” “Liquid Automation was a worthy winner of the award and had to fend off a talented field to claim both first place and the highly commended award.” Miller said. “We congratulate them and wish them all future success and expect to see them on the podium again next year.” Liquid Automation encourages members of the community to call in at Unit 4 / 40 Arrenway Drive, for a chat and to find out what makes them number one in their field. ENTERTAINMENT

Projector on Red DragonLiquid Automations' CEDIA award winning entertainment systems provide one simple intuitive way to select and use any number of entertainment devices including Radio, IPOD, Apple TV, DVD, Audio Video Server, Satellite TV, Digital Terrestrial TV and IPTV.

Multi Room High Definition

Audio video is distributed around the yacht in true 1920x1080 high definitions over a custom fiber optic or Ethernet based media matrix.

Remote controls (Crestron, AMX)

Touch Panel: Kaleidescape Entertainment ServerOur controllers give feedback directly to the wireless remote. This allows fast and easy searching for music from the media server or iPod docks without looking at your TV. Our remote controls mimic the intuitive ipod-like user interface. Importantly our remote controls give a quick description of current activity with no danger of getting lost.

International worldwide systems

Our custom system has an extensive range of pre loaded Satellite, Terrestrial and Digital decoders for the Mediterranean, Caribbean and European sailing grounds, allowing the Ships engineer, at the touch of a button selects what country the yacht is in and automatically the correct control are selected, even the radio frequency steps will change allowing for a true worldwide capable entertainment system.

Custom screens and lifts

Liquid Automation can design and integrate many automated devices including custom LCD/ Art Work lifts to water proof marine Projection screens.

Video Conference

Touch Panel: Video ConferenceThe freedom to work seamlessly on board can extend the available time to enjoy your investment. What better place to do work than in your own office at sea. Just because you are away from work does not mean you cannot check in from time to time. Dialing is a breeze just a simple press of the preset contact from your touch screen and you are in business.

Intelligent source selection

We have the ability to adapt to specific vessel limitations and provide a seamless result for you, the end user.

Example

If there are not enough decoders for every cabin there will be a priority order. For example if there was a yacht with 12 TV’s and only three decoders then the priority will be:

  1. Owners (has one dedicated)
  2. Guest Areas including Saloon
  3. Captain
  4. Crew Areas

The way it works is when the Saloon selects SAT TV first, it will take Sat Decoder #2 and will have full control. If any other area selects SAT TV on the remote, SAT TV #2 will show as “IN USE” by the Saloon. If selecting SAT TV #2 in another area a banner will come up over the screen showing the Saloon has control and local control will not be available until the saloon either switches off or selects a different source. If a crew area selects SAT TV, no “IN USE” indication will come up on any guest remotes. So if a guest selects the same decoder they will take over the control and the crew area will get the “IN USE” indication.

Automatic System health monitoring

The Health of your system is monitored constantly and should for any reason an amplifier, speaker or other device fail, the system will annunciate the failure locally to the ships engineer as well as contact Liquid Automation.

All equipment rack temperatures are constantly monitored ensuring the system controller will notify all crew panels of the rising temperature. The system controller will also shut down and protect the equipment in case of excessive temperature.
